Adult Faith Formation

RCIA
(Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)
Within the RCIA, the Church warmly welcomes people who are interested in knowing more about the Catholic faith, while providing appropriate spiritual formation according to each person’s needs. In the RCIA process, adults gradually enter into full membership in the Catholic Church through times of study & prayer, opportunities for service, and various rites, which lead to Baptism, Confirmation, and sharing in the Eucharist. For more information, call the parish office.
Baptismal Catechesis for Parents Parents planning to have their infants or young children baptized participate in a gathering designed to explore the meaning of baptism and ways to raise a child in the Christian faith.
Marriage Preparation After couples have met with one of the priests for initial marriage planning, they are invited to explore the call of Christian marriage to become a sacramental sign for each other, to be the special means by which each partner experiences Jesus’ love, healing, care, and forgiveness. In a variety of options for marriage preparation, engaged couples are led by married couples in English or Spanish to reflect together on the practical and deeper aspects of married life.
Bible Study A series of bible study classes meets at various times during the year. Persons interested in exploring the themes of the Old and New Testaments and their application to life today are encouraged to attend. No previous experience in bible study is needed. For more information, call the parish office.
Parish Workshops The parish offers workshops that are varied and interesting! Parishioners are encouraged to offer suggestions for future workshops. Watch the Sunday bulletin for upcoming events.
Diocese of Stockton
School of Ministry
The School of Ministry offers a wide variety of classes in adult faith formation and preparation for ministries. The Basic Faith Formation series provides an excellent introduction to the tenets of our Catholic faith. This look at our faith from an adult perspective is not only enlightening, but also helpful in sharing our faith with children or adults. Classes are held in parishes throughout the diocese and throughout the year. For more information, call Wanda Scheuermann, Director of the School of Ministry, at 466-6797.
